The University of Western Ontario awarded Richard Tyler

The Western Health Sciences Communication Sciences and Disorders Alumni of Distinction Award 2024.

“Recognizing alumni who have made outstanding contributions to education, their profession and community”.

Dr. Tyler completed his BSc in Communication Disorders where he was helped with his stuttering,  which influenced him to focus on audiology.

He then came to the University of Iowa to do his PhD in Psychoacoustics.  After working 3 years at the Institute of Hearing Research (Nottingham, United Kingdom), he returned as a Professor at the University of Iowa.
