What stood out to me was the tight knit group and camaraderie amongst the residents and how approachable and committed the faculty were to training.
I was drawn by UIHC’s strong clinical and academic training. The faculty and co-residents are supportive and show a genuine desire to help you pursue your interests. I know that by the end of my training that I will be a competent physician-scientist.
The University of Iowa's Otolaryngology department is a strong program with down-to-earth co-residents and faculty, excellent research, and is in a town with easy living, 4 beautiful seasons, and within driving distance to see family and friends.
Come and see for yourself. Yes, Iowa has topnotch training as well as fantastic staff and residents. Honestly, the same can be said for many Otolaryngology programs—it's a great field! However, there is a quality and character to the people and program here that is hard to put into words. Although it is difficult to describe, it's easy to feel the difference. So, come and see, and you won't be disappointed!
